Not particularly interesting and well over priced. Almost all the information is not translated from Danish. We expected a modern, scandanavian design experience and got more of an old fashioned, typical museum with a bunch of chairs that we couldn't sit on.

It may be boring if design isn't your thing - but for those who are interested, this place is a hidden gem! Note that it's FREE if you show them your student ID card. It's also close to Kastellet (with the Little Mermaid) and Amalienborg Palace.

We enjoyed the historic and modern furniture of Denmark. The cafe was very pleasant and had good prices.

We visited the Danish Design Museum in the spring of 2013 and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, going from room to room, seeing the extensive and thoroughly explained exhibits and then walking in the gardens in the museum courtyard. The history of Danish Design is well documented in the museum, and the exhibits are taking you through time of modern Danish Design.... More

The building in Bredegade does not look very impresive or big from the outside, but once inside you are walking from one wing to another in a total square (courtyard/garden in the middle), going effortlessly from one section to another. Each room/section shows examples of Danish design in any given period, but the genius here is that the various trends... More

Denmark is famous for its design and here is the place to know more about it. A place for design and furniture lovers. The museum is not big, but it gives a good idea of how design has evolved in the 20th century.

There were two temporary exhibits, one for textile and one for record covers and they were both interesting. The modern part of the permanent exhibition was excellent but I skimmed past the older/antique section because furniture etc from those eras does not appeal to me.

The building itself, wasn't very impressive like some others in Denmark. Nonetheless the staff is very nice, and there was an exposition focussing on records and record players! as an enthousiast i really enjoyed this exposition. Also, it's free for students!
