When it was built it was not intended to be a place of worship but as a part of Caesar Galerious's palaces. It's truly a monument of Roman architecture and later greek orthodox touches.

Rotonda is a byzantine church built in the shape of a cycle.
This is very rare for this kind of buldings (churches and cathedrals).
I can only recall the Pantheon in Rome built in this shape.
In any way, it's worth a visit, after visiting the nearby Ancient Roman (rebuilt) Palace in Navarino Sq and the famous Kamara (Galerius' Arch).
