Although is the city's trademark, it used to be a tortutrous prison during the turkish occupation. It was named "Red Tower" because of all the blood that was spilt. After the liberation was painted white and was never used again like that. Today it holds numerous exhibitions and has a marvellous view from above.

It is a beautiful walk to the tower in the morning as well as in the evening. The night photos of the tower is especially impressive.We just love to walk around it every morning and evening after supper.

Wonderful views across the bay. Very Steep steps inside - hot and humid. Could prove a difficult walk for some.

i had a daily tour on the town and i visited the white tower. for sure is a must see monument not because of its history and its reputation,but because of its fine inside museum and its unrivalled view.
