I very much wanted to see this important collection, but more than half is closed... NOT temporarily, but permanently. They could care less. Don't visit Thessaloniki if this is the reason you're visiting. Even in the best of circumstances - poor opening hours like the rest of Greek museums with the exception of the Acropolis Museum.. There's not a lot to write about an archaelogical museum in a city bearing the emblem of Great Alexander.. So visit it!!! More

This museum was free of the usual graffiti . It's clean and easy to access. Impressive jewelry pieces to see. Jewish history was also interesting. More

One of the most famous museums in the world. Most of the time the exhibits travel out of Greece for propaganda purposes. But still it will give you an idea of the Greek grandeur of the ancient times. More

It has some amazing findings from archeological sites in the Macedonia region. In addition to Greek ther is information in English too for us tourists. More

Another good museum in Thessaloniki. I enjoyed seeing the gold exhibit, however most of the other exhibits were similar to others I'd seem in Europe. The layout of the building is a little strange, but the staff will assist you if you are confused. More

Treasures of Alexander the Great and King Fillip II are exhibited in the museum, and in general, one can see parts of the history of Northern Greece. More
