When we talk about the modern olympic games the names that come to our minds are Couberten and Vikelas. But think again. This fantastic building belongs the foundation of the Zappa family that made partly the Olympic games of 1896 possible. IT certainly is worthy of a visit.

If truth be told, Baron de Coubertain played a very MINOR role in founding the modern Olympics. Averoff, Zappas, Vikelas and Soutsos played pivotal roles on which the Frenchman rode the wave. Zappas spent much of his fortune on building facilities in Athens for such a great sporting competition and what he has left for prosperity is simply stunning
