We went here on a cold and wet day - and were very pleasantly surprised. The gardens are interesting as is the house has some very beautiful furniture. And we found the fort at the top of the hill as a bonus!! Tip - try the little tea house across the road from the museum - it looked lovely. More

We visited this Museum & Gardens on a Sunday afternoon in January,when the attractive looking Cafe in the gardens was not open & nor were the first floor rooms in the Museum. Nevertheless we spent an hour in the ground floor exhibition area which covered some very fine 16th & 17th Century Cabinets in beautiful condition,together with some unique Gold... More

“Beautiful Garden and Beautiful House - Cafe?”

An oasis of calm. The gardens are great. The plant nrusery is wonderful. The house is opulent in the extreme. The newly built Cafe never seems to be open!!!! More
