We took the train to get to the Castle and this in itself was fun as the streets are very narrow and twisting. The walk round the Castle walls (there is not much left of the castle unfortunately) was pleasant as were the gardens around it and the views of Lisbon were stunning. More

Wonderful experience, worth the 7eu entry fee for the views alone regardless of the castles historical value. Walk around the perimetre and take in the views from all directions across the Lisbon city, broader region, water areas etc. Well worth it. More

If you're a castle buff, this one doesn't really have much, just the main walls and a ruined interior. A pleasant walk around, fabulous views across all of Lisbon, and for a real workout walk back down to center city. Castelo Sao Jorge is the place to take pictures showing the entire city. Too bad that there is now an entry fee, even when having the Lisboa card. More
