If you get a chance it is worth the trip from Bruges to Oostende the location of the AtlantikWall Museum. Here you get to go through WWII bunkers built by the Germans. Visited this museum after walking along the Belgian beach became a bit boring. The museum is a great 2-3 hours of history with a REALLY good audioguide. It's not as impressive as Normandy, but it is well-preserved and gives a lasting impression of the importance of the Atlantic Wall. More
