A great place to shop if you like huge crowds milling aimlessly but obstructively between you and wherever you're trying to get to. Unfortunately one has to go there sometimes as it has the biggest concentration of high-street chains in town.

Very crowded shopping street with typical high street shops and other very cheap, made in China style shops. Dont go if you are a tourist and maybe if you are a resident. Galerie INMO there is the bes one in town.

It's a long but very narrow street where there's nothing else to see than the large chain stores you find in about every city in the whole world, if you look for a nice boutique or personnal service it's best to go uptown on the Avenue Louise where the upper class stores are. Rue Neuve is a well known shopping street in Brussels. You will find there regular shops that you can see mostly everywhere. One shopping center called City2 is interserting for shopping, as well as another big place called 'Galeria Inno'. Nothing special to visit here if you do not come for shopping.

C&A, H&M and other mass retail shops is what you'll find on Rue Neuve, plus crowds of loud & bored teens and bad street musicians. Not an independent shop, nice bar or slightly charming building in sight. At night the street gets empty and depressing and is actually better avoided all together.

It is one of the main commercial street of Brussels, with lots of shops of average quality though (except the Galleria INNO department which includes great culinary objects in the basement. The smell of waffles dominates the street!
