The Place du Grand Sablon is more sober and down-to-Earth than the Grand Place, looking less fancy but also less touristy. The gothic church, the typical cafés and bars and the chocolate stores in the area are places worth a visit.

If you are a fan of this amazing taste, this is the place to visit and taste the fabulous Belgian butique choclates. Very nice place to have your coffee with marvelous tastes of the chocolate. While in Brussels a "must-visit"

Very pretty and pleasant square, with lots of chocolate shops. Definately one of my best areas in Brussels. Worth a visit.

In summer you expect to see lots and lots of tourists in Brussels and this square combined with The Grote Markt would probably accommodate half of them. Unlike the Grote Markt, this square has more than its fair share of "antique" shops. We did not check out to see if these were genuine antiques or antiques for the tourists who... More

This beautiful square attracts hordes of visitors, especially during weekends, tourists for sure, but also many locals. The perfect place to find an antique gem, or sip on a glass of wine on one of the many terraces. A great mix of boutiques and chocolate shops adds to the attraction. A favorite, always.

We spent the second of our two days wondering about this area. Visiting shop after shop, looking at all the antiques. We stumbled onto an open air flea market that was an amazing sight to see. People spreading their items on the cobblestone plaza for all to see, haggling, picking, rummaging and more. Its a pickers dream come true. I... More

I visited the weekend antique fair and bought a fabulous Art Nouveau vase and some antique tiles. Found a nice take-away cafe on a side street for a delicious first meal in Brussels. They had a few outside tables and a spot of sunshine. Perfect.

Sablon is my favorite area in Brussels. It is adorable with a happy, cheerful atmosphere, lots of cute cafes, even more chocolate shops. It is great. I try to walk through any time I go to the center of town and I always bring visitors here for lunch or chocolate. Stop by. Take a lap inside the Church. Come on... More
