As an Anderlecht local, I agree that the city has it's rough spots. However, it has a few hidden gems that are worth while. The locals are friendly and I feel safer walking around in my neighbourhood Cureghem than I do when I walk around in the city centre of Brussels.

It is certainly not a very safe to be when the sun sets. Many africans, driving like africans in ...Africa makes driving in the area a bit of a risky expedition.

Anderlecht has a few museums, including Cantillon, but this is a rough area of a Brussels. It is not a place to get lost or otherwise wander without a specific destination, and Anderlecht is best avoided altogether at night. Unless your destination is a museum or Midi station, there is no reason for a tourist to go there. This neighborhood...
