This is a very well restored space (former brewery) but unfortunately the exhibitions are of poor quality. The area is awful.

Always fascinating exhibitions housed in an amazing building, a visit does depend on what you want to see. The current variety of shows on (July 2012) make a very worthwhile visit (Jeremy Deller amongst others), and you could easily spend three hours there if you took your time. Great bookshop, super cafe though it might seem a little far out...

drawback: a bit outside the city centre, not in walking distance.
Go there for art exhibitions or for a coffee. It's a great place where you meet interesting people.
The wiels exposition spaces offers great backdrop to modern exposition and this David Claerbout expo was a perfect match. Nice concessions on the standard price. And very important in Brussels: there is a lot of parking space just next to the Wiels building!!
Do be compared with the New Museum in NYC! Contemporary art. A great place for Sunday brunch (but don't tell everyone).
When it comes to contemporary art, this is the place to be in Brussels. It's a bit out of the way from all the touristy sites, but it's well worth the trip.
This quite recent art house managed to bring top exhibitions to this old renovated brewery and they are still building to make it even better. Check their site...
