A must see when you visit Antwerpen: or how architects and engineers constructed a brand new railway station under a century old building with a tunnel under the city.

This station has more 3 floors. So for an unknown person, it might be confusing. A wonderful station with some nice architecture. The outside view of the station is also very nice.

Probably the most beautiful train station currently in use. All ceilings are decorated with fine detail. A truly grand building.

Pop into the station bar to see the clock and enjoy a beer. Impressive seeing trains coming and going on 3 levels.

I've been to Grand Central in New York, and I have to disagree with whoever wrote that article ranking Grand Central as the most beautiful rail station in the world. Antwerp is better. Even more interesting perhaps, is seeing the station late at night with almost no people around, which we got to do since we were going on long... More

I have been to Antwerp three times and every time I either arrived by train (from Amsterdam and Brussels) either I took the train to go somewhere (Ghent). The station is simply magnificent especially from the outside . It has four levels with tracks for the trains. There is also a beautiful tea room. Everything is very well organized and... More

I did not arrive by train to Antwerp but nonetheless made a visit to the railway station as the building is very grandiose and majestic. The station concourse is almost like the inside of a cathedral and then opens to a multi-level "shed". It just makes an interesting visit to see the old architecture and then to see how the... More

Without a doubt the finest example of railway architecture in Belgium. Sometimes referred to as the 'Railway Cathedral'.

Antwerp Centraal Railway station is a gem. Don't be in a rush to get out of the station. It is such a brilliant example of fusion architecture, and eclectic mix of styles. The facade is in classical style, the lovely clock adorning the centre on the outside as well as inside.Admire the interior, the high dome, and the wonderful classical... More
