In our opinion, the best - except during driving rains of course ... - and, apart from walking, cheapest way to transport yourself in Antwerp is using the Velo system! You can pick and drop a bike at more than 85 Velo stations: there is always a station nearby. Day pass: only 3 euro!

Traveling in Belgium by bike is a great experience. The drivers are very aware of you and basically the city is yours. You must follow the traffic rules so it is not like London where you can go faster than the cars because you can break all the traffic rules. No, in Belgium people like rules and want you to...

Visited Antwerp for a city-break and used the Velo bikes to get around.
The system was easy to use, cheap and we cycled all over Antwerp.
The cycle paths are very well designed so you feel very safe.
Recomend it as a cheap way to get around - but get a map with all the Velo stations.

We had a great tour with Polle throughout Antwerp.
We got some great cultural background of Antwerp and it was brought on an amazing enthousiastic way by guide "Polle".
For both us (deSter) and KLM, it was a great experience and we want to Thank Polle a least a 1000 times for the great time!!
ON-GE-LOOF-LIJK ;-)
Best Regards

If you have limited time in Antwerp, I can recommend Antwerp By Bike. During my trip in mid August 2010, I paid 8 Euro plus 7 Euros for bike hire. My bike didn't come with a basket so make sure you bring a backpack and plenty of water, especially if you're visiting Antwerp in the middle of summer. I took...

We were taken on a fantastic 3 hour tour of the lovely surrounding greener parts of Antwerp. The stops were evenly spaced out every few kilometres, and were situated at a variety of interesting locations. Not only was the guide knowledgable about the sites we visited, but he was also able to answer a vast range of questions, and had...

My husband and I were in Antwerp recently and decided to take this guided bike tour upon reading such great reviews and our expectations were not disappointed.
We went on the Green tour, the one around the port, the docks and the parks in the northern part of the city. The tour is about 20 km long and lasted about...

On a sunny Sunday afternoon we participated in a 3h biking tour around Antwerp. Our guide was well knowledgeable and kind of witty. Every few kilometres there was a stop: No boring long speeches about ancient histories, but a modern and lively talk on Antwerp facts and curiosities. The bikes were in good condition as were the roads we passed....
