There are lots of places serving fresh sea food to eat. Great place to spent hour and two near sea shore. And take boat ride to Vollendam. More

Came over to Marken on the boat from Volendam and stayed for about 2 and 1/2hrs. Walked to around the village, which has some nice fishermens houses. One of the last isolated villages on the IJsselmeer. You cab get there by car over the dike and park at the outskirts, but the boat from Amsterdam stops right in the center.
