This is a FREE tour through the Amsterdam canals, on a small motor boat, with a guide. It's a great way to get a feel for the city, and to see the amazing architecture. It's also nice not to be on one of the big touristy boats, but instead on a small boat that can even go under the lowest... More

I have searched for boat rides in TripAdvisor and came along the reviews of the St. Nicolaas Boat Club. Since I was looking for a small boat that could go under the smaller bridges and did not want the crowd that goes in the large boats, this seemed to be the best option. And it was!! Our captain was Diego,... More

We're an expat family originally from the UK and often take trips with the St Nicolas Boat Club when friends and family are in town and bar none, it's the best way to see Amsterdam from the water. As a long time fan I feel like these guys need a bit of a shout out! Whilst the tourist boats are... More

My friend and I took this boat trip and were too excited about the zero price. We read some blogs about this company, but it must have been to old. I dont know. Basicly, the blog said the tour was really for free, even if you want to tip them, they kindly refuse as they like to be a non... More

As a long time captain of the St. Nic boat club, I would like to respond to this review. I'm curious what other "better guided boat tours" you would have taken for the same "price" in Amsterdam? Because there aren't any. There are electric boats which you can hire and drive yourself for 40EUR an hour. There is the Canal... More

I'm not one for guided tours, but when in a city that is so canal based, it made sense to check this out. The tour was perfect - just enough information without being overwhelming or annoying, the right amount of time on the boat, and the guide cultivated a fun, open ambiance. We looked like we were having more fun... More

This was a great find while on our vacation. I read about this company from the internet and it was spot on. We made a reservation on the clipboard at the back bar in Boom Chicago, Amsterdam. The boat is on a canal not too far away and we all met out front where all the bars are. Food and... More

If you are looking for an alternative canal tour of Amsterdam then why not try the St. Nicolaas Boat Club. They have two small old open steel boats that hold about 10 people. There are no facilities on board but the trip only takes an hour or so. The Boat Club is run by volunteers as is the 'skipper' who... More

The boat ride will not be a historical tour, but it's a super way to see the city in a relaxing environment with people who just enjoying the canals and boats. The tour guides are all local, regular people who know the city. Our boat driver pointed us to a local brewery (Brouwreie 't Ij) that was awesome. Loved it. More

For a suggested donation of 10 Euro each, you get a boat ride in one of the old boats from Amsterdam's history (ours was 1930s vintage). The boats seat about 10 people and you have to sign up at the Chicago Boom Social Club to book your spot on the boat. Chicago Boom Social Club is in Leidesplein and is... More

Will get more in for from a commercial tour but done that on a previous trip. Def worth it if the weather's good, can drink, eat and smoke. Guide gave us a few ideas on where to go. More
