We first visited on Sunday morning, but everything was shut, so visited again on Monday afternoon. There are some lovely little speciality shops, and it is a lovely place to while away a few hours in Amsterdam. More

It was a very pleasant walk... A great mix of shops such as high end fashion, light fixtures, cheese and wine etc... I went in the morning at 9.30 and found many of the shops closed. Quite a few of them open late as late as 1.00 pm in the afternoon. Still Enjoyed the window shopping but will have to... More

You'll come across them during your visit anyway so not really worth planning for. More

For a short city break, you could just visit the nine streets and get a flavour of the Dutch capital. High end boutiques, great bars and restaurants. Have a typical Dutch breakfast, an auchsmiter(?) which is eggs with ham and cheese. No wonder the Dutch are tall with such great protein breakfasts! More
