In the 100-year-old warehouse on the Oude Rijn river in Woerden, the Reypenaer cheeses are matured in an entirely natural way. Over time, this process leads to the distinctive and complex taste with its exceptional aroma that characterises these artisan cheeses. In the Reypenaer Cheese Tasting Rooms in the centre of old Amsterdam, you can personally test and evaluate the flavour, the aroma and the qualities of the Reypenaer cheeses, all under the guidance of an expert cheese taster. Each cheese tasting session lasts approximately one hour, and caters for a maximum of 20 people per tasting. Tasting workshops take place every Wednesday to Sunday throughout the day from 11.00 to 17.00. The basic introductory workshop costs €7.50 per person. There is also an Advanced Tasting (with wine) at €10.00 per person and a Connoisseur Tasting (with wine and port) costing €12.50 per person. We also cater for private groups, corporate events and private parties for groups of up to 20 people. We booked in advance on line. We learned that the Netherlands produce more than Edam: indeed cheese is a very major part of their culture. The one-hour session started with a chat and video before getting down to the main event which is rather like wine tasting. You have the opportunity to include wine as well: we opted for the... More

We were lucky to just turn up and be accepted at a class that was just starting, but it would be a good idea to book since all other sessions of the day were fully booked. You get to taste a number of cheeses (you're not limited by amount) and rate them, whilst also noting the different tastes with white... More

What an amazing time. Learning about the cheeses was one of the highlights of my trip - and it's do useful in holland!! I found some really interesting cheeses I liked too. And for only 10 euro for lots of cheese and a glass of port wine, you can't find a better deal anywhere else in Amsterdam. Highly recommended. More

On our walking tour with Omy Amsterdam Tours we got to taste some cheese. Our guide knew the manager so we got a little tasting session on our own. Next time in Amsterdam I want to do the full workshop. We bought the mature goats cheese, mmmm. More

A great stop for everyone - especially tourists. The tasting classes can be done in English and Dutch (and maybe other languages - not sure) but in any language, it's a great introduction to the different types of cheese offered in the shop. More

First of all, if you are using the Trip Advisor city guide app, the location of the pin on the map is about a half mile off. Note the address instead. Next, don't plan on just showing up to start tasting. It requires you to be put on a schedule. I showed up sat about 12:30 and the next tasting... More

I m so glad that I found out about this place from trip advisor. You have to book through email, as the class holds only 20people to avoid waiting. Nice lady explained us about the unique process of making cheeses of this brand. There is video as well for better imagination. We purchased the basing tasting which was 10euro per... More

We had a ticket from our Holland Pass that we didn't know what to do with. We saw that the Cheese Tasting was in the area so we decided to give it a try. Luckily, they had openings to get us right in to the next tasting. What a treat! We brought cheese home with us, and we are still... More

The cheese they sell here is very special and they explain why in a one hour cheese tasting they hold downstairs from the shop. Afterwards you get a 15 percent discount on buying cheese, which is wrapped in such a way that you can bring it home on the plane. The tasting cost 15 euro per person which includes a... More

THIS WAS A HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP TO AMSTERDAM. We had booked a tasting with the wines/ports. Unfortunately, when we arrived the reservation was not to be found~ we had our email confirmation with us. Without skipping a beat, the darling sales girls arranged a private tasting , which was just perfect. Received some gratis gifts of apology and purchased... More
