- Lazaro MMiami Beach, Florida108 contributionsVery High End ShoppingA very busy street. Expensive stores. You're better off walking along the river to see more diversity of shopping. I did not see one tourist/souvenir shop which was unusual. The only souvenir shop I found was in front of the tram stop Rudolf Brun Brucke.Visited April 2023Written 23 April 2023
- gfsc5Perth, Australia1,479 contributionsOutside our price rangeWe wandered down this famous shopping street a couple of times checking out the window displays because walking into some of the shops looked a bit intimidating. Lots of high end places. Also lots of interesting architecture which is worth looking out for. On the day we took our stroll (a Saturday from memory) there was a large open-air market at the end furthest from the railway station. Some interesting stalls and cheaper than the adjacent shops.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 July 2023

If you have the funds then you will enjoy the exclusive and high end shopping there. For those in a budget, stroll by and enjoy the ambiance and window shopping. It is quite a normal shopping street well known for its luxurious brands. But I don't like it. The day we visited here the bus lane was closed, so we needed to walk down the street.

This street has a typical European feel with the trams running along and with low-rises flanking both sides of the street. The retail is pretty much high-ended and the only thing an average tourist would do is just stare what's displayed at the window, which was exactly what I did! Can't blame anyone if they also window shopped.

Do not expect Milan's Via Montenapoleone.
Bahnoffstrasse has a "cold" feel to it. The windows are not glamorous. Average.

Not a place to shop since most of the stores are high end but worth a walk as there is wonderful atmosphere around specially in the evenings. There are some amazing cafes to sit, sip a coffee and enjoy the weather.

The 1.4 Km long Bahnhofstrasse is Zürich's main downtown street and one of the world's most expensive and exclusive shopping avenues. The street is largely pedestrianized, but is also an important link in the Zürich tram network. Excellent for window-shopping or hopping into the chocolate/cafe's on this plush shopping street.

If you LOVE going into luxury brand stores, to just look or to look and buy, this is the place to be. You can start at one end, and work your way up the street, stopping at a coffee shop along the way. Sometimes there are waits to get into stores for security reasons. Pretty much all the famous designers are here.

If you buy something of high value, they will give you the option to get tax-refund paperwork to turn in at the airport. This should work out in your favor, even if you have to later pay a duty when entering your country.

Sorry if this is late. Just saw it. The city center is about a 10 minute train ride from the airport. Trains are frequent. There's an SBB (Swiss Railways) office on a mezzanine level of the airport after you come out of baggage claim and cross the street into the landside building. Another poster's tip to buy a day pass is a good one. Cafe

P.S. Die Antwort kann auch online übersetzt werden.

I would suggest the Leoneck Swiss Hotel, offers a great price/location/quality deal. Is very close to the Limmat and to the Hauptbahnhof meaning a walking distance of 5 to 25 minutes to almost all the attractions.
