Of course it is the best way to see it on a clear and beautiful day, since you can have an impressive view also of the surrounding. It take a couple of hours if you don't have hurry to visit it, and it is worth it the entrance fees. You visit the Castle, the different rooms in it, the prison..... More

As you come in, the cold wind blows into you face and show's you how it was many years ago. The prisoner that stayed there in the lowest part of the castle must have had a hard time; not like today's prisons in Switzerland. Take at least 2 Hours to see the place its worth it. More

Give yourself 1.5 hours to see it all. Audio guide is adequate and you can always fast forward. The Chateau has been reconstructed from ruins and is unfurnished. More

Its famous prisoner, Bonivard, is the subject of George Gordon,... More

The Chateau is marketed well however is over hyped. The location is great.... Its on the Lake... but the tour of the chateau itself was a downer. Nothing much to see inside really. Lots of rooms and ups and downs later we realized we would have utilized the time better had we just gone for a walk by the lake. More

It was so crowded I had a hard time spending much time there and the rooms were sparse. I have seen many other castles that give you so much more visual information about how it was lived in More

I would highly suggest walking along the lake from Montreux to the castle. It is a beautiful walk and is along wide sidewalks, so I believe wheelchair users would also be able to do this. This castle is extremely well preserved and presented. There is a lot of walking and stair climbing that you can do if you elect to... More

Centrally located with a great view of the mountains. Our 4 year old daughter loved to see a real castle and we appreciated not having a long drive to get there. More

Do not miss this castle if you are in the region. I advise you to download the application that explains the rooms, available for iphones and ipads in all kinds of languages. It helps enjoy the tour, though the view is stunning whether you have the explanations or not More
