The museum property itself is well located on the lake and actually quite interesting. The exhibits inside the museum we found to be lackluster. I suppose it is worth a visit if you decide to stay in Lausanne, but don't come just for this attraction.

The olympic museum and gardens do look very closed (April 2013) but the not-all-all-advertised temporary and free exhibition is on the Helvetique paddle boat moored opposite the museum steps. It has displays including: the torches from the last 30 or so summer or winter games; medals from those games; examples of equipment (Chris Boardman's Lotus bike); a 2012 torch which... More

Been to this museum twice, very informative yet not boring. The kids will love it with all those props and records on the walls and all that. Wanted to show this museum to a friend but it was closed for renovations until April 2013, not sure when it will open again, but hopefully soon as this place is a must... More

Beautiful idea to do the olympic museum. When we visited in February 2013, was undergoing repairs, so we did not see any real attraction.

Only temporary exhibits open now. Main museum is closed until next year. If you are only going to be in Lausanne once it would be worth seeing but if will be back wait until main museum opens up again.

Under construction for big period of time..the boat in the lake is nothing special as it is complimentary to the permanent museum..the museum shop small and basic as well..

Has all the history of all the modern Olympic games to date and previous that were undertaken by ancient Greece. Loved the history and information contained therein. Give yourself at least a day to explore the place fully - it took me 2 - but I stopped to read everything!

Well if you want to spend 20 minutes or so it's fine. But the real thing took two days so DON'T GO till the real museum is open

I really enjoy this Museum. If you are in Lausanne you have to take a peak. It wont take up too much of your time, you will learn a little, walk down memory lane a little, and have a good time. Its right on the lake front so you can't miss it. Also enjoy its park/garden and enjoy the great... More
