It was good to try Zermatt but bearing in mind it had the best snow for 20yrs+, we felt underwhelmed with the skiing available and neither of us (who are pretty experienced skiers) feel the urge to return.
If it wasn't for Cervinia and the other ski area, we would have been very dissappointed.

I absolutely love this resort for the skiing and for all the quirky streets and shops that it has. In the centre of the town there are buildings dating back to the 15th century and they are amazing. Definitely worth getting of the main street to have a look.

Coming each year in April, unrivalled quality of snow in Matterhorn Paradise, very few people in the extraordinary wide Rothorn paradise and unbeliveably long slopes on the Italian side of the mountain. Great variety of slope difficulties, of snow quality, depending on altitude, and fantastic upgrades and ongoing projects with new lifts and new connections.

The village was warm and welcoming. Shopping isn't that great. While there aren't cars allowed in the village, beware of the local vehicles that are very quiet and can sneak up on you! Fantastic views of the Matterhorn. Food is very expensive.

One of the most well planned ski resorts. The infrastructure was amazing, ranging from trams, gondolas to trains. The views are spectacular and lots to choose from.

Over-all great mountain and great views. Definitely not a beginner hill. I would say more intermediate/advance level for sure. It can definitely get really hot up there and I would highly suggest to wear sunscreen. Something I forgot to do, and sure regret not looking into that. Food as anywhere in Switzerland is very expensive, be prepared to pay about...
