If in the area, you must take the opportunity to go between Grindelwald to Wengen via Maennlichen. Take the time to hike up to the top. The view is breathtaking.

Grindelwald is 35 kilometers southeast of Interlaken. Grindelwald is a real typical Swiss montain city. You can ski, ride cable telefric and enjoy the beatiful Swiss sinery. The city is calm, but has everything you look for. Resturants are nice, sevouneer shops are many, Migros and other small shops. We stayed in a Swiss Chalet managed by the owner, who...

No words can describe the wonderful views from this cableway. You leave the valley behind and climb up into the alpine pastures. Choose your path down to the halfway station as you ride up to the top. Watch out for wildlife as to ride up or just enjoy the views. Always a pleasure summer or winter.
Just a very good lift system that is clean and run well. Its not the fastest lift system but boy the views are fantastic on a clear day.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. The staff are happy to share local information but only if you ask otherwise they keep themselves to themselves and get on with their efficient...

A wide variety of runs, good - if expensive - restaurants and lots of fun to be had on skis. Try taking time off from skiing and going to 'Top of Europe' by train. Amazing views.
You really feel like you are on the very top of the world here - views are outstanding, services are as needed with friendly staff all over the place.
We just love Grindelwald in winter when it snows. The mountains are magnificent ! Chalet Saphir overlooks the mountains and we love watching the skiers come down the mountain. My favourite is watching the little train crawling up and down the mountain.
The whole thing was wonderful. You need some walking boots. A four mile cable car ride and views to remember all your life.
Easy to access gondola base by bus from Grindelwald, bus every 15 mins.
Small gondola cars, 4 maximum, and ride takes 25-30 mins to highest point.
There are 2 or 3 great runs down to base area but not to gondola start point. You then have to decide whether to walk 6-7 mins back round to gondola start point, and...

Trip up is a bit slow (25 minutes) but there is an excellent ski area for very small children and 2 good restaurants.
