Exhibits have English labels - so very helpful. The Museum uses as much space in the building as possible making it a little difficult to follow an exact timeline of the history of Bern but this is not a big problem. The very early periods are not covered as well as the Medieval and later periods. The ethnographic galleries devoted... More

This museum has LOTS to see and makes provisions for English speakers unlike some other Bern tourist attractions.

The entrance was exorbitant at 28 CHF per adult, the exhibitions we saw was mediocre, the only exhibit which was worth seeing was the "TausendBlumen carpet" from Burgundy. We would not return.

In London we probably wouldn't have stood a chance of getting in to see this exhibition by just turning up, but on a soaking Saturday in Bern we got in. The exhibiton is well organised and thorough. Of course it would have been nice to have seen a (very) small army of warriors, but there are about 7 - which... More

From the permanent exhibits on Einstein and Switzerland/Bern history to the temporary exhibits, this is a great museum to visit while in Switzerland. The museum is larger than you expect and offers a wealth of imagery. Skip the nearby Swiss Alpine Museum and spend your time and money here.

A fantastic exhibition, meticulously planned, and very well organized. The exhibition, leads you from the quirky discovery of the Warriors in 1974 by farmers digging, back through the history of China, to understand why Qin was such a powerful first Emperor, and then onto the fantastic Terracotta Warriors themselves. It is a pleasure to go and see because of the... More

We went there for the exhibition of the terracotta warriors from China. It was full of people but the organisation was very good as is in any Swiss museum. The only fault was maybe that it was not very clear where to go next. We almost missed to see the actual warriors. The building of the museum is very pretty,... More

This is a phantastic exhibition about the first emperor of China and its famous army of clay soldiers. Eight original figures from China are on exhibit. The rest of the Museum is also very worthwhile. Plan half a day for this Museum.

The Qin exhibition was good. The Audio guide added some extra information and was worth the 5 CHF. The service in the restaurant has improved slightly from that given by a previous reviewer. waiting time is now down to about 30 minutes! Unfortunately the museum has not thought its organisation through properly. We planned to visit the exhibition, have lunch... More

This special exhibit is definitely worth seeing if you will be in Bern during 2013. Plan to spend about an hour or more to see it in its entirety. We opted to skip the audio guides and just browse and read the information as we went. There are some interesting videos throughout the exhibit that show how the terracotta army... More
