To tell the truth, it looks bigger on the photos that it actually is. But it's interesting, antique for sure, easily accessible using the free public elevators, surrounded by old buildings which once upon a time hosted the town's Council and other "honorevoli" and the vista is spectacular. As if the views of the surrounding town and valley were not... More

My wife's family is from Gubbio, and we go every year to see the family. I finally got around to reviewing it here. Gubbio is probably the most picturesque stone medieval village in the country. It rises up the slope of Sta. Ubaldo, and is loaded with shops and restaurants. There are some quaint hotels, plenty of beautiful sites to... More

A Beautiful city,The city’s period of greatest splendour is clearly apparent in the grandiose buildings of Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo dei Consoli, considered one of the finest expressions of Medieval city architecture in Italy

The piazza has a fine view of the medieval stone buildings of Gubbio. The main museum is here, in the Palazzo dei Consoli, and the Duomo is just around the corner.

My husband and I just made our first trip across the Appeninne mountains to Gubbio in Umbria. What a thrill and surprize to find a perfectly in tact medieval city. Its as though all the buildings were built in a narrow period of time the medieval period. You can practically see the nights in armour on horseback and the ladies... More

What a magnificent piazza and palazzo overlooking the Umbrian hills. Have a drink in the square and take in the views and the laid -back atmosphere-it's worth the walk up to the top. An excellent time to visit is when they run the "TRE CERI" through the town where you will see a parade of silk wearing supporters of the... More

Wide, open space w beautiful views below. The elevator was definitely appreciated as the kids were quite tired. Gubbio overall was worth the visit, not your typical Italian hilltop village, had a little bit extra...

The square has buildings on only three sides. The fourth side opens onto a wonderful view.

A beautiful open piazza with views down to the surrounding Umbrian countryside. For visitors with accessibility issues this piazza is relatively easily reached by taking two escalators....just follow the signs. Alternatively the walk up is interesting but the walk down is a lot more fun!
