“Go sopra!”, our guide Anne and the crowd from upper Assisi cheered. Sitting next to Anne in the stands, it was easy to get caught up in her enthusiasm, and cheer too. Last week, we attended the calendimaggio spring festa, a beautiful festival of medieval pageantry, skits, singing and contests. Anne was the perfect guide. Her knowledge and passion for... More

The brief story: Recently, in April, 2012, I made a trip through Europe with my wife and grandmother. We scheduled with Anne a full private day tour in Assisi, included a car with driver to take us from Rome to Assisi. She totally forget us that day, and didn´t book anything (car, driver, guide). We were left alone at the... More

It's easy to imagine how the idea for this tour service was born: (Anne's extensive knowledge of Umbria) + (her many connections with locals) + (American tourists' desire for an authentic experience in Italy) = BUSINESS! This model works to a certain extent: Anne can take you around Umbria as if you were a visiting family member or friend. But... More

If you want to feel like you've come home to Umbria contact Anne Robichaud at AnnesItaly.com. This American expat has lived on a small farm outside of Assisi, the medieval heart of Italy, for 30 years. Her knowledge of & enthusiasm for the beautiful hill towns of Umbria, its history, culture and luscious, loca-vore farm-to-table cuisine will make your trip... More

My husband, three teen daughters and my mother took Anne's tour on Easter Saturday. We travelled to two beautiful churches just outside of Assisi to see the priest bless the cheese breads brought by the local women. We visited a lovely, lovely farmer and his wife -- true gems of Italy -- and even sat at Anne's very own dining... More

We had contacted Anne before our trip to Assisi, based on tripadvisor's and Rick Steves's reviews. We were not dissappointed. We chose the combo Assisi/Spello tour and she made both places magical. her knowledge is awesome and her delivery very passionate and dramatic - paticularly loved her rendition of the suffering Christ on the Cross, as did my friend, who... My wife and I recently spent a week in beautiful Umbria. We reached out to Anne months before our trip to hire her as our private guide. However, Anne was already booked on several of the days we would be there. After creating an itinerary for each day we were in Umbria, Anne arranged other guides for us when Anne... More

October 24 my husband and two of our friends had a full day in Assisi and Spello under the guidance of Anny Robichaud. We had met Anne in 2010 during the Calendimaggio festival in Assisi when we could not find any tickets for the day and she happened to have two extra. We found out then that she is extremely... More

Wow! What an energetic, highly knowledgeable, personable guide! What a great teacher! Anne's enthusiasm for Assisi is truly contagious. We loved our tour! Time flew! Lunchtime already? Anne prepared a delicious Italian lunch at her renovated farmhouse. What a treat! Five stars isn't enough for this wonderful experience. Rick and Carol Boas Wilton, CT More

We signed up for way more tours in Umbria than we ought and never regretted it. Anne Robichaud knows her Umbria and made it a lovely stay in an under-rated region of Italy. Anne is an excellent resource, not just for Umbria, but for all of Italy. She hooked us up with guides in Rome and Naples who were dynamite.... More
