We had a such great trip with Gianni that we are thinking about asking him to guide us on another walking tour in 2014. We were a party of five, three of us physically fit, experienced walkers and two enthusiastic beginners. Our trip with Gianni took place in mid-April 2012, consisting of six days of walks of varying difficulty, starting... More

My husband and I engaged Gianni Stanghellini for a 1/2 day walk in the country. He is a knowledgeable and charming guide, someone we would be glad to meet again and with whom we could easily spend more time. We discussed culture, agronomy, history and politics as we trekked along and had a fine time. More, he guided us to... More

We went on tour on March 22, 2012, our tour guide Chris was great. Very knowledgeable and open to answer any questions. The views and towns you visit are spectacular. I would highly recommend you taking this tour. This is an amazing way to experience Tuscany and try great wine. More

My wife and I traveled to Italy to see our son who is studying abroad for 3 months in Rome. As a side trip, the 3 of us went to Siena for 2 days. What a side trip! I found the Walk About Tuscany website when researching our trip, exchanged emails with Gianni and soon booked a full day walking... More

When I visited Tuscany, one of the things I had on my "to do" list was to photograph the Val D'Orcia. However, without my own vehicle, it was going to be challenging. Until I found "Walk About Tuscany" and their personalised 1-day tour. With Gianni's guidance, we visited La Crete and Val D'Orcia, and a number of villages en route.... More

Walk About Tuscany is a well chosen name for tours with Gianni (www.walkabouttuscany.com). We spent 9 days based in Siena and toured with Gianni on 6 of those. Our days were full yet not tiring as the routes were carefully timed to allow pleasant walks through vineyards and wheat fields in the countryside. Interesting stops along the way included ancient... We had a wonderful experience touring the Chianti section of Tuscany with Gianni. He is from Siena and is passionate about his guests appreciating all the area has to offer. Gianni is extremely knowledgeable, entertaining and overall an excellent tour guide. Because Gianni is graciously flexible, we were able to dictate the pace of the day. As a result, we... More

Dear Maxgus, you must have mistook me for another tour company that does long tours in Tuscany. I have never done Pisa, Florence, Siena and San Gimignano in one day. I do relaxed, slow paced walks in the countryside focusing in one area at a time. I hope one day I will have the chance to show you around so... More
