This little museum is a gem and tours are available in English. Kids over 8 would really enjoy the pottery models of the town as it was in 1300, and the tour takes only about 20 minutes. The art gallery next door, part of the museum, displays modern works using ancient materials. Last on the tour is a studio where... More

The museum offers a view of San Gimignamo in miniature as it was in Medieval times. Our "tour guide" offered interesting commentary as we enjoyed the short history lesson about the city. It's doesn't take much time, and we found it a lot of fun. More

I can't say enough how enlightening this little museum is. I highly recommend doing this first and then checking out the rest of the city. It only takes about 20 minutes and a guide will explain all (in medieval costume). Very neat ceramic representation of San Gimignano in the 1300's. The tour ends at iSculpture which has modern Italian art... More

Having looked on Trip Advisor for things to do in San Gimignano and this museum was highly recommended. We completely agree. I cannot remember the name of the lovely young lady with long dark hair who gave us a private tour at no extra cost. 5Euros was very reasonable. The model was excellent and the tour insightful and she was... More

We visited the museum on our first day in San Gimignano and found it to be very informative as it explained how important the city was for pilgrims and for trade in the 1300s. The museum has a scale model of the city during that time made out of ceramics, which took a team of local artists months to construct.... More

The medieval museum San Gmignano 1300 exposed the faithful reconstruction of San Gimignano as it was in 1300 at its maximum splendor. Every single piece is made with attention to the detail after two years of historical research. You can see the 72 towers that were in the city at that time. You can see how the buildings were, including... More

When we arrived at the museum to begin it was apparent that there was some confusion about who we were and if we had paid up front or not (which we had) After analysing our email confirmation and asking some additional questions they then explained the treasure hunt and what we had to do. The actual hunt was fantastic and... More

We stumbled upon this museum after we had planned to skip it. It is a must see...in our opinion. I had planned on seeing this exhibit when my husband and I toured San Gimignano, but as time ran short, I didn't think we would have time for it. We wandered into a shop where they were working on another reconstruction... More

You should start your visit to San Gimignano by entering this wonderful museum. The model is very accurate and the information given by the guide will be useful to tour the village and imagine it as it was in Medieval times. There is also an art gallery with very nice artistic pieces which are described in detail by the staff... More
