Don't venture off the beaten path as there is no police presence! The foreign vendors are VERY aggressive and harass you every chance they get. Don't spend more than 10 minutes getting a photo with the leaning tower and then leave town, preferably before dark.

We visited the tower and surrounding buildings on a grey Monday in June. After parking in the car park (less than a mile from the tower?) and getting the bus close to the site (€1 return each), we were met at the car park and nearer the site by lots of street hawkers selling their illegal wares, despite the large... We loved the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It was beautiful and impressive. Amazing how it is still standing. The train ride getting there was easy however we had to wait a little bit for the bus to take us to the "Field of Miracles". My husband did climb to the top and he said it was worth it. He did... The tower is wonderful. Didn't get to go up the tower the lines where way too long. I really like the area around the tower to, there isn't that much to the tower it's self but really just to ticket it off the list and say you have been there.

Had been told it was tiny and hardly worth the bother- but it was the best bit of my 10 days in Italy! Best fun was the novelty photos with friends- holding tower up, pushing tower over etc... Also many laughs to be had watching other tourists- from all over the world- trying the get the right photo. You can... More

I was worried that an hour train ride would be a waste just to see this sight. It was not a waste. The tower is really neat. It's a famed attraction for a reason. We didn't even go in, just checked out the outside and took pictures. And it was absolutely worth it. I would do it again. Truly unlike... More

The leaning tower is much more beautiful than I ever imagined, and bigger too. There are trips to the top that last about half an hour. After a short talk, bags have to be securely left at the bottom and the long walk up the spiral staicase begins. The lean makes it a very unusual experience. If visiting the tower,... More

I expected the Tower to be bigger but having trudged through an uninspiring shopping street from the Railway Station, the emergence of the Cathedral, Baptistry and Leaning Tower itself, set in an impressive grassed square, made the journey more than worthwhile. The Tower is a revelation and must be viewed from all angles to appreciate its design and wonder how... More

The tower itself is awesome to look at, and then you have to take all manner of silly pictures pretending to hold up the leaning tower. It's good fun. It's impressive how much the tower leans without falling. Finding parking near the tower is a pain but possible. €2 will get about an hour of parking on the street near... More

If in Pisa you must go see the tower. We chose not to climb it since the best building to see is actually the leaning tower, so we climbed the baptistry and saw the whole thing from there. If you want to climb the tower I suggest you buy the tickets online and avoid the lines. Walk around Pisa, it... More
