It took us about 20 minutes to reach the Pizzale Michelangelo from the Pont Vecchio. Once on the summit, you have a spectacular view of Florence. This is where you will get your best photo shots of the Duomo! There are vendors selling local merchandise and food in the Piazza. There is also an outdoor restaurant in the Piazza. More

After a day of too much sitting, my husband and I were in the mood for a good walk. While one can drive up to the Piazzale by car, the walk up the hill is great exercise and the view from the top is very pretty. There were lots of tourists there, so I was little concerned about being pickpocketed--other... More

When I think of Florence now, I think of this amazing view. It's a must see, and truly breathtaking. I couldn't take my eyes off the view, with the sun slowly setting and just seeing Florence's landscape. Prepare for a climb up the stairs (pace yourself) and bring your camera! There are also vendors selling gelato, water etc., artists and... More

It made for a nice early morning walk in oltrarno - we went early so there was little traffic and there are sculptures and gardens along the way to complement the great view of florence. there's a copy of the statue of david here (it was under construction when we went in late april/early may 2012), which in my opinion,... Florence is a very walk-able city, but you may want to take a taxi to the foot of the Piazza. We went to the piazza after we roamed through the gardens of the Palazzo Pitti. We had been walking for hours and then up the long stairs to the Piazza Michelangelo but we were rewarded for our hard work with... More

A little climb takes you to a stunning view of the city! It's a little bit of a shame it's also a major carpark... but there are a few restaurants and a few other things to see.... so don't miss out on this - it's really worth it! More

Walk over the bridge by the Uffizi and turn left and walk along the riverbank till you come to a small Piazza, walk through the Piazza and walk up the hill passing an abundance of wisteria. At the top you will have reached your goal. Just sit there and soak up the fantastic view - even better if you call... More
