Huge collection ranging from prehistoric onwards, including lots of ancient Greek and Roman pieces as well as Egyptian. Some of the display areas could be improved. But the wealth - too much, really, for just one visit - of beautiful and moving artifacts makes comment on the sometimes crowded and musty display areas seem a petty quibble.

Our visit did't start very well, as when we went off the bus at Piazza San Marco, which is a 2 minutes walk from the museum, it was signposted on the wrong direction!!! Take a map and follow your map, then! Once there, the museum has a very interesting etruscan collection, and also greek vases and egyptian mummies, but not...
