Ufizzi and Academia are wonderful too, but do not miss the Palatine Gallery of the Pitti Palace. The art is worth your visit and for this one the lines are very short, the crowds inside are almost inexistent.

It is beautiful & grand - the Pitti's were trying to build a palace to rival if not out do the Medici's Palace, but alas they went bankrupt while building it & the Medici's ended up owning it after all, to their credit they kept the family name of the people who built it. The Boboli Gardens to me are... More

We are fortunate enough to be spending 16 days in Florence, but if you are short on time, this is the place to come to. On our first visit we bought a ticket 1 which entitled us to visit the Modern art Gallery and the Palatinate Gallery. The Palatina, in particular, was amazing. Apart from its history of occupation by... More

Quite disappointing. Numerous costumes were shown, but nearly all dated from the 20th century. Just a few from the 18th and 19th centuries

We had one and a half days in Florence at the end of a week of horse riding through the Tuscan countryside, so we had to pick and choose our activities carefully. After reading reviews, we decided to skip the Uffizi Gallery and spend our entire Sunday at the Pitti Palace, and we are SO happy that we chose this... More

This was my second time in Florence and when I go back I will definitely go to the Pitti Palace again. We bought the B ticket, gardens and porcelain, costume galleries. The place is vast and there isn't enough time in a day (or two) to see everything. It is not as crowded as other museums but the stairs may... More

Make the trek across the Arno (you will want to a couple times throughout your trip). But make sure you plan to spend at least a half day here. This is included on the Firenze card which is always a nice benefit. There are very few crowds since it is removed from the city center but the gardens attached are... More

Short queues. Be sure you know what you want to see as one ticket does not cover all the attractions, e.g. the Boboli Gardens and the Palatine Gallery are on separate tickets so to see them both, even if you didn't want to see any of the other attractions, you will have to purchase 2 tickets. If you have limited... More

We spent an enjoyable few hours at the Pitti Palace, exploring the art displays and the gardens. It's quite easy to find, simply just head straight up the road from the Ponte Vecchio and after a few minutes it will be on the left. There is an entrance fee and there are two types of tickets (A and B). The... More

The museum of modern art displays an excellent collection of works in a magnificent setting, so I found myself spending almost as much time admiring the palace as the artwork itself. The ceramic museum is anti-climactic, although set in formal gardens offering a superb vista. Plan to enjoy as much time in the grounds as in the palace!
