Firenze's Centro Storico is superb! There is so much to see, to learn about and to taste that it explains the tidal wave of tourists coming everyday! It is secure and clean and well restored! One of the nicest old city I have been to!

It's really crowded in the the Bridge and quite difficult to find a place to take picture. But the outlook of the bridge is really good and I loved it so much.
Nothing to enjoy when you are surrounding by hundred of tourists On rainy days it smells s...at evey corner (no Wonder with such a concentration of people). Even if you pre-book the entry of Museum you have to queue a lot (50mn for Uffici) and it is badly organized. Prices are not in relation with what Florence is supposed to...

Much better than the city centre of Florence, as it is off the beaten path and en-route to Piazzale Michelangelo.
Great walking great architecture and one shop after another full of design and fashion and all things beautiful. This is not one place but the center of the city has been set aside for walking...no cars. So you can stroll without fear of being over run by a stray Vespa Fiat or Mercedes.
This tiny area is the must for all. Mostly pedestrianised the streets are paved with irregular flat stones that could be a problem for high heels pr thin shoe soles. But forget the pain - just explore and be amazed! If over 65 avoid the epensive Florence card - entry to almost all attractions os free on presentation of passport!
Come here most times when on business over the years, never disappoints. No frills Italian fare, the anti pasta is constantly good never had a bad one, location perfect for all the sites,,, always busy, always a good sign
Florence city centre is unique: a wide compact area where you can easily walk and enjoy the beautiful palazzi, wonderful buildings such as "The Cathedral" or "Palazzo Vecchio", landmarks such as "Ponte Vecchio", museums, restaurants, modern shops or ancient botteghe in the narrow streets.
We stayed in October 2012, not too many people, fantastic weather. Loved getting lost in the laneways & stumbling accross artisan & craftsmen workshops along the way. Fantastic Boboli gardens; Pitti Palace. Buy a panini & a beer, sit & absorb the beauty of it all.
Stayed in a fantastic historic apartment which added to the amazing experience.

The historic center of Florence is one of the great walking experiences you will ever have. Wandering among the old streets, stopping into churches where you might find a priceless fresco or altarpiece that is 500 years old, stopping for lunch at a nameless trattoria, and shopping like nowhere else in the world. One of my favorite cities.
