David is by many accounts the finest example of sculpture that exists in the world today. Michelangelo's superb talent is clearly on display here. We spent at least one half hour looking at David from all angles. The sculpture is huge and you must look at the eyes carefully. There are paintings and other art objects in the Academia but... More

If you enjoy anything, it will be David. Everything else is just great while David steals the show. More

Great gallery, much more enjoyable than Uffezi (to us). Short, easy to navigate and condensed enough to make for a good tour. The David is obviously the main attraction, but prisoners are amazing as well. Unfinished sculptures still trapped in stone but trying to get out. As the headline says, order tickets early and skip the line. We were there... More

The main things were under construction but still a great place to see, lots of people coming and going and it's a place you just walk through to get other places. More

I wouldn't call myself a lover of art but The David was just a sight to see. I've seen it in pictures(and asked myself what the big deal was) but when I saw it in person, it really was awe inspiring. More

Our main reason for buying a ticket to enter the Galleria dell'Accademia was to see the statue of David. However, as we found out, there is a lot more to see. There are many paintings and statues throughout the museum, but he museum of musical instruments and the area with the plaster pre-castings used by the artists to make models... More

No air conditioning on a hot May day, but you can't skip this museum, not just because of Michaelangelo's David, but because it has so many other Italian painters not in U.S. museums or international collections. We bought an Uffizi membership and sailed in with no waiting. More

Really great little museum, much more the David. Be sure to reserve your tickets ahead of time forthe4 Euro fee. Lines are huge, and they only let inmllnmbers every 15 minutes, hitch makes it very nice once you're in. More
