Liked the Peace and solitude - a place to reflect and get away from it all! To step in the footprints of St Francis is profound and humbling. Could have stayed here all week if Monks would let you!
This is a must see when in Cortona. The word humble comes to mind when ever I am there. The setting, especially after a good rain fall as the water pours over the rocks between the buildings. On also gets a feeling of peace when walking around the site or inside the little chapel or small prayer rooms
peculiar atmosphere and an isolated kingdom of silence and meditation in the middle of a green forest...
We hiked to this beautiful spot from Cortona. Spectacular views of the valley. It was one of the highlights of our stay in gorgeous Cortona. An amazing setting! It would be an awesome site for a wedding.

This location is just magnificent. So beautiful, peaceful, and serene. Whether you are religious or not, you will certainly have an appreciation for the natural beauty, the serenity and calm that you feel here. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
I had the fortunate opportunity to visit this peaceful place and highly recommend it to anyone. The grounds are beautiful and well worth walking around. My best experience of Frati Cappuccini happened from Cortona. It was Sunday morning, the fog was thick and I was visiting the Cortona cemetery. All of a sudden it sounded like angels singing in the...

The setting was dramatic but because of its position several miles from Cortona it was extremely peaceful. You can wander through the public areas and take time to look at St Francis's cell as well as the little church and take a walk to an ancient bridge. There is really a feeling of sanctity and timelessness here which, after the...

I was encouraged to visit the Eremo Le Celle by the person at the reception desk of my hotel. I'm glad I didn't walk as I'd already walked all over and up and down Cortona and this might have been "a bridge too far". It's a bit far from town so I drove out. What a spectacular place--beautiful, peaceful, historical...
