It's huge. The great G. Bellini inside to the right is wonderful. The tombs of the doges range from spectacular to monumental. Not much of a religious feel but a great place. More

Many walk in to this church, see there's an entry fee and leave with just what they're able to see of the nave from the entrance. BIG mistake. Canvases by Titian, Veronese, Bellini and more, but the real standout for me is the incredible wealth of funerary monuments to more than two dozen doges who have been interred here. If... More

Good focal point to get your bearings in Venice. The church is alright, but nothing special, but there's a great Gelato restaurant right around the corner. More

Extraordinary - the height of 3 cathedrals with frescoed bricks painted over real brickwork. Amazing. More

3 euros to get in and see the statues, icons, artwork, paintings etc. Lots of ciollection boxes dotted around too in case you wanted to give more! Lovely Church though, and well worth the entry fee - which is for the restoration work. Visited on a wet, cold day so was glad to get inside. In the same Square as... More

After being in Venice a half a dozen times, we just discovered this wonderful Campo. The church is beautiful and uplifting. The square is unique because it is not on most tourist's "to see" list. In the afternoon, mothers bring their children to play and young boys are playing soccer. It is a laid-back, comfortable place to visit. Also, it... More

Simple, elegant and full of space, Santi Giovanni e Paolo is the antithesis of San Marcos Byzantine splendour. Remarkably free of crowds, you can wander and enjoy the works of Renaissance masters. More
