We visited the church and it was closed. So we went back 2 hours later. The best part of church is behind construction barriers and the floor mosaic is covered. We did pay to go into the sacristy for beautiful art.

Any visitors should visit the sacristy (entrance €3) to view stunning paintings by Tintoretto and Titian
Great view of St Mark's Square from the entrance and it's free to get in. Impressive building from the front but if you walk around the side you will see that it hasn't been that well maintained which is a shame. Watch out for the old lady begging at the entrance, she is nothing to do with the church and...

This enormous cathedral was built in Venice and dedicated to the Blessed Mother in thanks for an end to the plague of 1630! This plague killed nearly 1/3 of all Venetians. The cathedral Santa Maria della Salute (Our Lady of Good Health) sits across the water from St. Mark's square on a majestic island, visible to all those who enter...

Much of this enormous church is cordoned off for renovation work. This leaves what is probably a very spectacular space with limited atmosphere. The interior is very dark. Its worth popping into if you are near and its free. There are 8 Titians but we did not see any of them on our visit.
Amazing interior. Too huge to have much of an atmosphere but well worth a visit. Quite overwhelming. Fabulous position.
The outside of this church is the attraction. Inside it's dark and hard to see. We went on a Sunday with a service going on, so we were not allowed to visit most of the church.
The cathedral is not worth a visit, but the view is stunning from outside.
You can get into the first part of the cathedral for free but further in it's €3. We didn't pay it as the main part is quite dull. Lovely dome but that's about it.
We sat from the steps outside and watched he boats go by...

After a visit to the Guggenheim, its great to go sit on the steps here and watch the traffic on the Grand Canal -- quite possibly the best spot in Venice! Don't pass up the chance to go inside this beautiful building -- we were disappointed when we were asked to leave after 10 minutes because it was closing.
a church that with its beauty and great size gives the impression that almost touches the sky!!!!everytime the vaporetto passed by it, there`s no chance that you can take your eyes off of it!!!!
