This is a great example of the power of Venice from over 500 years ago. The clock itself is wonderful in its complexity. Take a good long look at the clock face and think about the era during which it was constructed. And it still works!

and she is very good - knows ALL the 500 year history of this incredible clock (eg it was lived in by generations of families right up till 1999 & MANUALLY operated twice a day every day of the year - only now is it computer controlled & compressed air powered). She is a native venetian so also knows everything...

The tower is hard to miss when in Piazza San Marco with its bright blue clock face, zodiacal symbols and huge bell. The tour begins at the Correr Museum at the opposite end of the square so make sure you know where it is and get there in time. Group sizes are limited so book in advance, once again, book...

I prebooked the Torre dell'Orologio tour and it was one of my favorites in Venice! The guide was lively and fun, and learning the history of the clock tower was really really interesting! It took a little less than an hour and wasn't that expensive. Highly recommended.
NOTE: The ticket office and tour meeting place is in the box office...

Parties of max 12 people are given a guided tour lasting an hour. The tour covers the history of the building and clock and culminates in stepping out on the roof top next to the bell. Very special and great value

We booked at the Correr Museum and managed to get same day tickets for English tour. The guide was excellent. Very knowledgable and good sense of humor. Views are great. Fascinating to see the technology. You get a discount if you have Doge;s Palance tickets and if you are over 65.

Booked this tour and so happy we did. Some of our best pictures of the Piazza came from here! Kids (boy 8, girl 10) really enjoyed seeing the mechanical back ground of the clock. They also enjoyed the guides stories of family who used to live in the clock tower, they giggled at the Moors and marveled at the sound...
