This was the first place of interest we visited while in Venice. My girlfriend and I remained impressed. We recommend you start the tour from the first floor. The paintings by Tintoretto are amazing, well-preserved, although not well lit. Mirrors are available to aid in observing the paintings found on the ceiling. The woodwork is also very intricate. We found... More

This was our first encounter with Tintoretto's work. Very impressive! We read our book and took the audioguide (they offer it in many languages) and learn a few things about the artist. The paintings are stunning!

Ceiling paintings of San Rocco Church is one of the worlds best! I will totally miss this place if my new friend i met in hostel didn't recommend it to me. Wonderful paintings by Tintoretto. All the paintings are well-preserved and well-represent Tintoretto-style; there are meaningful and consistent stories (well-explained in audio guide) in the paintings. It is the Sistine... More

This large over the top building holds the greatest works by Tintoretto. It's a bit much to take in, but well worth the effort. However, my favourite bit was the carvings in wood in the upper hall. The figures look as if they are about to lift themselves out of the walls.

Another MUST DO on our list. See our detailed reviews on the hotel and restaurant experiences. Doing anything here - earlier in the morning, will free up your queue waits and more enjoyable with less crowds. Key - do just before high season in March / April and avoid Italian summer heat. Lots of walking.

I visited in early April. It was, at most, 30° in there, but I forgot about it after I began to study the paintings and sculptures. Unfortunately, there was no literature about the fantastic sculptures lining the upper room. Strange and very compelling. Fortunately, there's a café just across the road. The cappuccino is very inexpensive and I can sit... More

Best 10Euros spent in Venice. Includes audio guide. Paintings are breath taking. Must start from the small room on the second floor, from there to the main room on second floor and then down to first. Beautiful place.
