We just returned from our first trip to Italy. The first night we started out in Venice where we had booked a Ciccheti tour with the Venice Experience. I am so glad we did this tour. We were soo smart! Mike showed us the true Venice and we had so much fun! We went to some off the beaten path... More

We took a walking tour with Karen through the backstreets with stops for Ciccheti and then a trip to Murano and Burano. I was worried about keeping two ipod addicted kids engaged, but Karen was great with my two girls ages 8,9, being a former school teacher was helpful!. She paced the walk for them and we never felt hurried... More

Our tour guide gave us the option of taking the water taxi back from our trip to St. Marks Basilica or to walk 45 minutes back to the hotel to see Venice. I was so glad I took the walk, not only for the history, but some of my most memorable photos.

Venice has always been on my bucket list; however, when my boyfriend and I finally had an opportunity to visit last April (2012) I was skeptical. You hear over and over again how it's a city overrun by tourists; has restaurants with bad, overpriced food; and hundreds of shops selling knock off carnival masks and Murano glass. These pre-arrival impressions... More

My husband and I had a great experience with Mike as our tour guide. He even gave us some restaurant recommendations and the one we got to try before leaving Venice was the best food we had in Venice! (L'ingordo, Campo S. Margherita). We also felt comfortable the next day wondering confidently around where we had toured, which was more... More

Venice is a beautiful city to photograph but it can be extremely frustrating to navigate. The backstreets are where you'll find the best views, hidden canals and sights that define Venice, but locating those spots is a different story, especially at night while lugging your camera and tripod in dicey weather. I looked Mike up on the Internet and he... More

Being in Venice for just two days would not have been enough if it hadn't been for Karen who made it possible for our family to learn about and explore this magnificent city. My family and had an amazing time.

Mike was personable, informative and accommodating. Not a guidebook rehash but rather an insight into day to day life while still covering the "must sees". In 4 hours we saw and learned more than we could have wandering on our own with a quide book and map in 2 days. Our day was rainy and cold, and Mike went out... More

I want to recommend to everyone the backstreet walks with Karen Henderson. Very interesting and no way would I have learnt in books what I learnt from Karen on the backstreet walks. Also after walking with Karen Venice became so much easier for me to get around and I did not need any maps! I had gained knowledge and therefore... More

My sister and me went on a Photography tour and absolutely loved it. Our tour was personal, insightful, relaxing, and fun. Mike, our tour guide, took the time to explain some photographic tips along the way and picked some great canals to take pictures. He was knowledgeable and very engaging. We stopped for a quick bite in the cutest establishment.... More
