A great destination for those who like long, reasonably challenging red runs. Great lift system (no Drag lifts) and no queues. Inexpensive mountain restaurants, friendly and easy access to the slopes. Several connected villages and all in all a great place to ski, although very little slopes for novice skiiers and even the very few blue runs have tricky parts More

It the biggest village in the Area with nice family owned restaurants and shops. Prices at the shops are similar to Milano and staff at restaurants are really friendly for Italy. Direct lifts to Monterosa for Intermediate skiers and snowboarders and 15 min from Antagnod which is good for beginners. More

Have just returned from our second trip to Champoluc and have to say that it is now by far my most favourite resort. Last year we returned to the Trois Vallee-great skiing on crowded pistes; full of braying Brits and large soulless cafeterias where a croque monsieur costs 15 Euros. In stark contrast, Champoluc is a pretty traditional Italian village... More

Champoluc is charming, quiet and relatively inexpensive compared to French and Swiss resorts. We have just returned, the snow was excellent. Regarding the suitability for beginners, I can see why the reviewer said what they said but our two kids were complete beginners aged 8 and 11 and after a week at ski school they were confidently skiing all the... Seeing as this was the first time I'd opted for a ski trip in Italy I didn't have terribly high expectations. I knew there were fewer runs and I'd not heard of the resort until it was booked. I was pleasantly surprised to find that although there were fewer runs than many of the regular French resorts I'd been to;... More

We have just returned from Champoluc on a skiing trip with my husband and two children, aged 12 & 15, both beginners. Whilst the village of Champoluc is small and quite pretty with traditional chalet buildings, I would just like to warn off anyone going there with complete beginners. There is a piste map on the internet which is TOTALLY... More
