It is a very charming Italian "piazza". It's small, but not busy (which is probably also a good definition of Trento). Great as meeting point... to go elsewhere: there is not so much to do there if there aren't any major events around. And even in that case, you could probably find more interesting spots at walking distance.

We've seen a lot of piazzi in Italy, and I truly think this is one of the most beautiful. The Duomo itself is large and well maintained, but the fountain and the surrounding frescoed buildings make the feel of the square just perfect. And it's always lively with locals and tourists alike.
