We went there with my boyfriend and were very happily surprised. What looks like a tinny museum from the outside is a wonderful building full of treasures.
The museum is very calm and relaxing, divided in areas depending on the geography and the time.
The explanations are usually good but sometimes to long.
My favorite part was the Chinese. :)

We were pleased with the discovery, a brief visit turned out to be hours. Very few people visiting which seems a shame for the effort & funds spent. Good for the visitors no problem for seeing the exhibits.

This is the way a museum should be arranged - along the lines of "more is less". The treasures are obviously placed just so, and the descriptions are full of interesting detail. The room of Japanese Buddha statues is particularly moving. go there!!

If you want to spend a couple of hours, or even a full day, in a modern museum equipped with precious pieces of arts, proper lights, clever introductions and guidance both in Italian and English, nice staff (and unspotted toilets), then this is the right place. Apart from the amazing small Japanese gardens at the entrance of the historical Palazzo...
