this building I've been to a couple of times and the era of it's time is dark and the internal and external are extremely different. But it's mesmerising to think tow different materials have built this. Inside a brick work which looks like it would have taken an enormous amount of time and outside, simplicity.. almost. It's incredible how you can find beautiful pieces of art everywhere in Italy. You don't need to read a guide: just walk around and you'll find something eventually.
My wife and I were very surprised when we visited this church.
A must see if you visit Modena and you're an art lover, especially of romanic art.
