We spent a whole day at the Vatican Museum (with two kids) and still did not see all the halls. This museum is big. Very big. We arrived at 9:15 in time for our 9:30 pre booked entrance slot, at which point the queue (for on the day tickets) was already an hour long. Pre booking did cost an extra... More

We visited the archaeological sites in Pompey near Naples and in the Forum in Rome however the really impressive findings in sculpture and art can be found in museums such as the Vatican museum in Rome. it is truly outstanding and i do recommend paying the 4Euros extra to get the tickets over the internet from home.It saved us hours... As many people before me have said, you could easily spend a week going back to the grounds of the Vatican and its amazing museum. It does get extremely crowded, so get there as early as possible...before 9am. I would suggest purchasing your Museum Vatican tickets in advance. It saved us at least an hour not having to wait in... Through our licensed guide, Cinzia Cortese, we did a Vatican Under the Stars tour. This requires a prior on-line booking. I would highly recommend doing this night trip. If for no other reason it is excellent because you got to totally avoid the long lines and crowds that are there during the day. Our guide was amazing and being able... More

Huge place with lots of art. Very impressive. Found out that items like rosaries can be €3 more expensive than the shop on the left of the Vatican itself although they have less variety. Was rather shocked given that's a 30% diff for the roaaries we got. More

From the entrance all the way through to the exit this place is filled with breathtaking masterpieces. Many know of the common or more renowned pieces such as Michelangelo's painting of the Sistine Chapel, but there are so much more things to be seen! 7+ Km of art from different cultures ranging from Roman to Greek to Catholicism to Egyptian... The treasures are priceless and abundant. However, it is shameful that the Vatican does not limit the number of persons in the museum to merely thousands. One cannot possibly enjoy the architecture, the exhibits, and the holy places in a sea of pushing, talking, photo-taking boors - even in the Sistine Chapel! Maybe there is a time in February when... Massive. Crowded, but stunning. NOT stroller freindly. Many stairs. Try not to rush through to the Sistine Chapel. More

It was well worth the money, expect a good 2-3hrs of touring this museum or more. I disliked the fact that it was very crowded and stuffy so be prepared More
