Micaela, our guide, is a product of the Jewish community of Rome. Her degree in history adds to the depth with which she led us through the Synagogue, and the ghetto neighborhood. We took both the catacombs and ghetto tours on our first visit to Rome. The guides (Micaela and Sara) both come from families with long histories in Rome. They were passionate, knowledgeable and extremely warm and personable. It felt like we were on a personal tour with old friends. These were my favorite tours during our entire time in Europe! More

The tour was headed by Sara, and we were a small group of 7. She was very insightful and knowledgeable about the Jewish history in Rome. Sara did a very good job of a historical perspective and weaved in the current issues of the day as well. Overall a good tour to take as part of the Rome experience. More
