We had two lovely experiences at the Wine and Food pairing at Roscioli in May. We went to an afternoon tasting on a Monday in May. We were with 4 others in the "class" , the small size was a luxury! We learned a lot about Italian wines, including wines we had never ventured to taste before. The food pairings... More

I'm by far not a master when it comes to wine so venues like Roscioli's are very intriguing to me. The man is a master of wines and the tasting is driven by the people in the room so each experience is different. Along with some amazing wines you can expect to dine on cheeses (some of which you really... More

We will be talking about this wine tasting experience at Roscioli for the rest of our lives! Alessandro is so knowledgable and entertaining and his English is very good. He had two guest wine producers and a olive oil producer show up during the wine tasting with their products to share with all of us attending the wine tasting. We... More

I live close to Napa, so I've done a few wine tastings in my day. But Allessandro makes this wine tasting a totally unique experience. He has an incredible mastery of Old World wines, and talks about them in an accessible and entertaining way. The evening was fun and unscripted - like you never know what wines he'll be in... More

I went to Roscioli's with my daughter who is very knowledgeable about wine. Alessandro was artful in entertaining the guests and also understanding their wine knowledge level. His demonstrations of Italian wines and the pairings was fabulous. As you would expect from a master chef, he was accommodating of guest dining special requirements and also engaged each guest on the... More

Alessandro had chosen different wines from different regions with distinct tastes. Matched them with great stuff from salumeria. Given information on regions, grapes and everything. A great chance to taste many wines and learn many things about them.

The wine and food tasting is organized very well. Food and the wine served are well chosen and good quality. The sommelier, Alessandro Pepe, sometimes gives a feeling like he thinks that he knows everything, sometimes behaves as a big head, but no, he is actually a nice guy and very generous: It says 8 wines will be tasted but... Alessandro is great, and this wine tasting was wonderful! Alessandro tailored the whole event around people's interests/needs. I do not drink red wine, so he brought different white wines just for me to taste. He served different food to one of our group members who had special needs. He focused on one area that someone requested. The food was mostly... More

A great experience. The most fun we had during our two weeks in Italy! We ate and drank very well, and even learned a thing or two.

Could not have expected such a delight pull two hours of food, wine and discussion. Tasted 10 different wines paired with 10 different meats, cheeses, pasta and tiramisu. Each an excellent combination in addition to being a great stand alone delight. All are available for purchase separately. Great price for the evening. Highly recommend and reservations are a good idea.
