I highly recommend to get a tour guid or a book to inform you of what you are looking at otherwise, the significance decreases. It was quite an impressive sight but then most of Rome is very impressive. More

I've been here before but always return...surprises just around the corner. This time, I did more home work. I looked all over for the crucifix that 'came alive'. This is one stop that I always make when I go to Rome. Easy to get to by the Metro, worth the trip. There is a beautiful courtyard in front of the Basilica. The Basilica itself is beautiful. More

Despite its recent reconstruction, the architecture and atmosphere of this Constantinian basilica, as well as its removal from the bustle of the city, makes St. Paul Outside the Walls something of a spiritual retreat, not to mention the undisputed resting place of the Apostle Paul. It is the only major basilica that has not been greatly redesigned since its foundation.... More

Not as richly decorated as many of the other big churches, but has some amazing things that make it memorable - its sheer size, portraits of all the Popes from Peter to Benedict XVI encircling the upper part of the church and the the tranquil cloister/garden areas. More

Well worth the time and effort to go and see this. No much effort though as it is within a few minutes of the metro. What a great site when you enter the building you will gasp! More
