When first visiting this minor basilica...from the outside it doesn't look like much...however, once inside you are amazed by the gorgeous frescoed ceiling. Then if that wasn't enough, you become speechless when you see Michelangelo's Moses - How did he make something so moving ...out of something so cold as marble? WOW

Fortunately, the church was not crammed and we could experience the sense of reverence given to this place and I have to admit that seeing the "chains" in the glass case behind the altar was moving and I am not an overly religious person. A beautiful, serene place.

If only to see Michaelangelo's statue of Moses, as well as the chains which assertedly bound St. Peter, this somewhat out of the way church is well worth a visit.. I did not go there on my most recent trip trip to Rome, but have been there many times in the past.
