We were impressed with the architecture and the sheer scale of this monument. The tomb of the unknown soldier is certainly a reverent place and worth walking up the stairs for. Walking inside the building is a bookstore and further up is the museum and the elevator to the roof. It was 7€ each to take the elevator to the... More

Forget about the contraversy this grand monument created when it was inaugurated in 1911 (“wedding cake” or “typewriter”, being two of the many insulting nicknames given to it). This is a beautiful piece of art with an unparralel view of Rome from its roof. You can have an amazing view of both the Capitol, Forum and Palatine Hill and of... More

The cafe is reasonably priced and a great location. Worth paying the €7.50 to take in the views from the top. More

Beautiful monument and home to Italy's unknown soldier from WW1. You can enter this monument freely and is a gathering place for people from all over the world. It is central to visiting Trajan's Column and the Campodoglio, what a view! Piazza Venezia is a wonderful place, but watch for the traffic. More

We went just to the first level of the monument. We did not take the elevator all the way up. There is a little outdoor cafe at this level and the weather in March was perfect. Had some great pastries and salads and enjoyed the view. The prices were incredibly reasonable. About 14 Euros for a salad and pastry. More

Amazing views of Rome from the top of this building! Can't beat it! Only downfall I guess would be that the signs identifying the sights in view are a bit difficult to read. We happened to visit when their was a wedding going on nearby, wonderful Italian wedding! We went during the day but sure it would look just as... More

An incredibly impressive white marble building dominating Piazza Venezia in Rome. It is close to the Colosseum and Roman Forum and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located half way up the steps, guarded by 2 soldiers. For €7 one can take a lift to the roof of the building from where there are magnificient views of Rome. More

This memorial is view by some as not too attractive, but if you examine closely the many sculptures and their history this memorial is extremely interesting and beautiful. The main attraction for us was to go to the top observation deck for a beautiful view of Rome. It is a large memorial and reaches a height sufficient to see almost... More
